In a female patient 68 yrs. old with liver cirrhosis Child A, MRI was suspicious for hepatocellular carcinoma segment VIII of 2 cm of diameter in the liver dome (Fig. 1). Tumor board transferred her to ablation.

Under general anesthesia in prone position, computer-aided placement of MWA antennas was planned after biopsy (CAScinationTm, Fig. 2), diagnosed later as high differentiated hepatocellular carcinoma. Two TATOpro 14G × 15 cm antennas have been put in place and 2 × 45 Watt have been applied over 20 minutes (Fig. 3).

Follow-up/Conclusion

Post-ablation control verified the ablated area (Fig. 4, Fig. 5). No recurrence occurred after 12 months.
