Terumo Provides Update on Impact from Hurricane Maria

10/13/2017 - Tokyo, Japan

Terumo Corporation (TSE: 4543) today provided an update on the impact to its manufacturing as a result of Hurricane Maria.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, Terumo has been working diligently to assess the impact to its operations in Caguas, Puerto Rico, where Terumo manufactures the Angio-Seal™ Vascular Closure product line. The safety of 261 Terumo associates and their families located on the island remains Terumo's top priority. As of October 6, Terumo has accounted for 100% of the associates. Terumo's outreach to them is ongoing and Terumo is providing relief assistance to them.

Terumo has been suspending its manufacturing since September 20. The facility sustained minimal structural damage and Terumo is in the process of making repairs. Terumo is doing everything possible to return to normal operations and provide the Angio-Seal™ family of products to its customers and patients.

The impact of the disaster on Terumo's business performance is being examined. Further details regarding the impact will be disclosed, as needed, once the analysis is completed.
